Try a different USB port or PCI slot on the computer. Router works fine on my wi-fi enabled laptop. I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 64bit and used the windows 8 beta drivers on the website to install the adapter. Just view all devices and select the usb card and let windows search for the drivers l.
